May 21, 2012 – We are sorry to report that we have lost two members, Art Fite, Jr. and Jim Lee, in recent days. Our sincere condolences to the families.

Banquet Wrapup

May 20, 2012 – Great Banquet! Thanks very much to Damien Gabis and Jim Melton for the very interesting presentation about Taltree and the spectacular garden railroad that is now one of their major attractions. In an interesting twist, Jim won our raffle and took home the 1988 LGB Al Lentz 10th anniversary train set that Dave Lynn had donated for the raffle. Additionally, the door prize pool was greatly enhanced by several donors. We appreciate that.

January 25, 2012 – We are pleased to welcome new members Chris and Leslie Schultz to our club. Many of you are customers of their 'Schultz Electric Train Layout & Hobbies' business at the Fairgrounds Train Shows. They carry a large line of 'G Scale' and other railroad items and can be reached in Dayton, Ohio at 937-299-4011 or Lionnut58@aol.com . They are also planning to open a complete line Hobby Shop in Dayton in the near future.

More About the Christmas Story and the Fairgrounds Show

December 30, 2011 – UPDATE – Earlier this year, the ILSR Board voted to create a Youth Grant Program in order to encourage more active participation by young folks interested in our hobby of Large Scale Railroading. The first result of the Program was the presentation of a Large Scale Starter Set to Brandon Carney at the recent Indiana State Fairgrounds Great Train Expo. The note below from Brandon's mother clearly identifies the success of the Program. Sandi also sent along pictures – posted HERE.
