A Christmas Story

December 24, 2011 – Brandon is very excited about his train set!! It is set up in the living room under the Christmas tree. He plays with it almost all the time. He loves it and is very thankful to all of you! I think he is just as excited to see, and talk, to all the nice people he has made friends with by being in this train club. Thank you all for being so kind to him!!! It means so much to me! And a Big Thank You to Ron for giving his modules to Brandon. He absolutely loves being at the train shows, and is so proud of those modules!!! I can't give enough thanks to all of you! You are all such wonderful people!!

ILSR Modular Group at the Fairgrounds

December 14, 2011 – The ILSR Modular Group will be set up for the Great Train Expo Show this weekend, December 17 and 18, 2011. If you would like help setup, as the Module Chief says 'Load them up, and head to the Fairgrounds at noon Fri. Dec 16. See you all there. Mel' – UPDATE – December 17, 2011 – I am sorry to report that Mel fell while loading his modules and suffered a concussion. He did not make it to the show – we wish him a speedy recovery.

The Path to Fame and Glory

December 1, 2011 – As I hope you are aware, on Saturday July 14, 2012, your club will be hosting four clubs that will come to our area to tour several of our member's layouts. Before the tour, we will host a lunch with some special exhibits. One exhibit will be a slide show. This is an opportunity for you to help and to become recognized for your model railroad skills at the same time. We need high resolution pictures of your layout, train collection or other related items. Please send them to your friendly webmaster and I will assimilate them for Ron Loudermilk to magically turn them into a slide show. Dan Perrott will set up the show equipment. October 22, 2011 – Trains to admire and buy, a new regime is introduced, Bud and Rence's excellent National Garden Railroad Show adventure and Dave Watts gives flying lessons. Always memorable, the Watts Open House.

October 17, 2011 – Sandi Carney (Brandon's mom) was intrigued by the excitement of the children enjoying our ILSR Modular exhibit at the September, 2011 Fairgrounds Train Show. She sent along some great pictures of the little folks, both happy and intense. Check them out HERE.

October 2, 2011 – The fall – winter Module Season kicked off on the September 24 & 25 weekend. The crowds were light but the display was great. Check the individual module pages in the 'Layouts – Member Modules' item in the bar above to see some of the latest pictures from the show, more will be added later. Note that another show and module display will be the weekend of December 17 and 18.

September 15, 2011 – Jeff and the girls did a great job gettin' the stew ready and the Trainmen's Union, after a short strike, completed their assigned jobs simulating real railroad operations. Some pix HERE.
